Wally Pfister’s TRANSCENDENCE, Starring Johnny Depp, Opens April 25th, 2014

WB has decided to release Wally Pfister’s feature directorial debut, TRANSCENDENCE on April 25th, 2014..

Johnny Depp may get to play a scientist whose brain is uploaded into a supercomputer.
Based on the story by Jack Paglen, the plot may have 3 scientists: Max, Will, Evelyn,.. Depp may play Will whose brain gets uploaded to a supercomputer so that they can have the world’s first self aware machine/computer that can think for itself.
Even producer Andrew Kosove has confirmed Depp’s role..

“It is true Johnny Depp’s brain is uploaded into a computer,“

Also expect the film to carry themes of singularity, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence
But they also said that the script may be subject to revisions, so there may be changes along the way.
Previous rumor had Christian Bale potentially joining Depp, but Bale’s involvement with the project has not been confirmed.
Production is expected to start early next year, scripted by Jack Paglen. Still no plot at this point, Pfister plays it like his favorite director, Nolan, does, keeping the plot secret.
