UPDATED!!! WANTED 2 Is Happening.. For Real This Time!

UPDATE!: Wanted co-screenwriter Derek Haas has tweeted that Angelina Jolie‘s character Fox and the mystical device LOOM from the first movie, won’t show up in the sequel..
To answer 2 questions I’ve been asked today: our draft of W2 will be Fox-less and Loom-less.
We’ve been hearing rumors of WANTED 2 since the first film hit theaters in 2008 and frankly I got tired of listening of whether or not SPOILER ALERT, they could resurrect Angelina Jolie‘s already dead character somehow. But the sequel is happening after all..
The first film which was based on Mark Millar‘s graphic novel, was adapted by screenwriting team Derek Haas and Michael Brandt and Haas tweeted the following
Michael and I were just hired by Uni to write WANTED 2.
In case you didn’t now, what he meant by Uni was Universal Pictures, not Univision. Ha!
The Wrap did a follow up from Haas who said that the film doesn’t have a director yet but the storyline will..
“take off after the events of what just happened. Pick up Wesley a few years later and go back in for another round.”
So it seems like there’s no plan of resurrecting Jolie’s character after all, either by way of prequel or reboot, which is fine by me. I actually enjoyed the movie Wanted despite its flaws. The curving bullet action was far fetched but fun to watch, it was pure mindless entertainment.
