I thought the aerial combat in the 2006 movie Flyboys was exhilarating. Sure some of them were special effects but they were fun to watch, actually if the movie was just 2 hours of just that, it’d be all right with me. Don’t know much about aviation or planes but why can’t there be more movies about it?! Be careful what you wish for because WAR BIRDS is happening…

According to Hollywood Reporter, TMU Pictures is developing the action adventure project WAR BIRDS with original story written by Michael Chait and screenplay written by Josh Staman while the script will be polished by Bryan Binder. and J. Todd Harris. Takes four to make this badass.
Chait will direct WAR BIRDS about “an Air Force veteran-turned-reckless airshow re-enactment pilot as he gets pulled into the underground culture of illegal, real-life aerial combat. Shooting is scheduled for the summer in Michigan using all real airplanes and aerial sequences, including authentic P-51 Mustangs, P-38 Lightnings, F4U Corsairs and a B-17 Flying Fortress as well as modern military helicopters and jets”
Do you recognize any of those planes? Titanic cinematographer Russell Carpenter will serve as a visual consultant.

Meanwhile, you have got to check this out. The official website, warbirdsmovie.com has released a badass test footage that gives you an idea of what the movie is going to offer you. Nice touch with the Linkin Park song and the WWII elements. Right about now Michael Bay must be going ‘Sh*t! why don’t I get to direct this!’
