WB Offers XERXES To Guy Ritchie Instead Of Zack Snyder
February 15, 2011RamaNo CommentsGuy Ritchie, Xerxes, Zack Snyder
The adaptation of XERXES which is 300 sequel, also created by graphic novelist Frank Miller, was supposed to be a project for Zack Snyder to direct from his own script but now Vulture said WB is offering the job to Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) instead. And there are 3 possible theories as to why this is happening..
WB wants Snyder to focus on SUPERMAN reboot. Word has it the script suffers from “Major third-act problems” and studio is racing against time, if you recalled, if there’s no SUPERMAN film in production by 2013, WB will lose the rights to the entire franchise and will have to re-license it from the estates of Siegel and Shuster.
Second theory is.. there have been test screenings of SUCKER PUNCH conducted and the result was pretty bad. The film tested poorly and WB is not happy about it.
Ha! I knew it!
Last theory which makes sense to me was that both Watchmen and Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga’hoole didn’t do well at box office. I didn’t enjoy either of those films.
Still think Snyder is a great visionary director? I’m really worried about the new SUPERMAN movie.
