WB Wants Joaquin Phoenix To Join BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Which Is Rewritten By ARGO ScreenwriterVariety heard that WB wants 3-time Oscar nominee, one of our generation’s greatest character actors, Joaquin Phoenix to play a role in the still untitled BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN movie. No word yet if Joaquin would say yes, seeing that he usually likes to do gigs that challenges his acting chops, not necessarily big budget blockbusters like this one. Though the role offered is not yet disclosed because rumor has it that it may be that of Lex Luthor and I think it would be fantastic if Joaquin plays Lex. No offense to Bryan Cranston and Mark Strong, but Joaquin will fit this part perfectly, plus he’s got a stronger cinematic persona than Cranston and Strong combined. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Joaquin would say yes. THR said Ben Affleck’s ARGO’s Oscar winning screenwriter Chris Terrio has been hired by WB to rewrite David Goyer’s BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN screenplay and I think that’s a great move on the studio’s part seeing that Goyer, at least to me, is not a great screenwriter, proven by how Man Of Steel got too many plotholes and you can’t argue that that all of them were for the sake of easter eggs. Goyer’s weak when it comes to giving his characters solid purpose and he’s unable to connect each of them together nicely. Henry Cavill will return as Superman/Clark Kent. Amy Adams as Lois Lane Laurence Fishburne as Perry White Diane Lane as Martha Kent Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman Gal Gadot as Princess Diana/Wonder Woman Production takes place in and around Michigan. Scripted by David Goyer from a story he co-created with director Zack Snyder. Rewritten by Chris Terrio. SUPERMAN – BATMAN movie which doesn’t have an official title yet, will arrive on July 17, 2015
