What’s Up With CLASH OF THE TITANS 2? Neeson And Fiennes Will Return As Gods. THE EXPENDABLES 2 ‘Is Going To Rock’

Last month, it was announced that Jonathan Liebesman, the director of the upcoming BATTLE: LOS ANGELES was hired by WB and Legendary Pictures to helm CLASH OF THE TITANS 2.
Comingsoon asked producer Basil Iwanyk (THE TOWN) who’s going to return for the sequel and his thoughts on the fact that this one will be shot in 3D instead of that crappy post conversion that the previous installment suffered from…

“Sam’s back, Gemma Arterton, Ralph and Liam’s back, but we have a whole new group of people. I think we learned a lot from the tone of the first one, whether or not it got too serious or got too jokey, and it’s a really cool group of guys and three new big roles that I think will be movie stars, and we have high expectations for it, we really really do”

“‘Clash of the Titans 2′ will go February 1st in the UK. Jonathan Liebesman, who just did this movie ‘Battle: Los Angeles’, is directing it. We’re on early prep on that. It’s a huge movie and we want to do a much better job on it,”
“Listen, we’re prideful people and we want to win and the 3D really helped us in a lot of ways, but we also took a lot of heat for it. I think for my own career and my own sense of purpose, I want this movie to rock… and it will.”

Iwanyk was also an executive producer of The Expendables, when asked about THE EXPENDABLES 2, he didn’t give much details, acknowledging the fact that it’s pretty much producer Avi Lerner and Sly Stallone‘s ambition but he’s confident about the prospect. Lerner once said that THE EXPENDABLES 2 is ready to be greenlit if the numbers look good for the first movie and he wanted more big action stars to appear in the sequel. The number have been looking good since it opened last month (banking $185 Million worldwide so far)..

“I saw Avi Lerner this morning, who deserves all the credit for it,”
“He really went on the line for the movie. He told me, ‘We’re doing a sequel, we’re doing it right away.’ I haven’t talked to Sly at all about what’s going to happen in the sequel. It’s going to rock and you can just imagine in your head who will be in that cast in addition to the people who are there now. But I’m not sure. There’s a lot of excitement and I know that Avi and Sly want to go at it as soon as possible.”
