The story is set in modern day and it’s a gritty approach to fighting ghosts, they describe it as a more seriously take on a Ghostbusters-like story.
A special ops group is formed to bring down evil ghosts that took over the great Manhattan.. but the location might be subject to change, ’cause ya know how it is with those pesky ghosts, geography mean nothing to them, they can attack anywhere anytime they want
Here’s how it got even more interesting. The report said Fried did a treatment and made his pitch presentation to Legendary Pictures, in a form of rip reel, meaning he presented a mash-up of scenes from other movies that showed the tone and visual style of that this movie, SPECTRAL, would like to have.
I’d very much like to see this reel.
Since there’s no telling if we’re ever going to get GHOSTBUSTERS 3, thanks to the stubborn Murray, I suppose SPECTRAL will do just fine.
